Client snapshot
The European Madero Association (EMA) exists to unify and standardize maderotherapy worldwide: to keep the training consistent, certify the people who complete it, and set the technique’s standards as the field grows. Education is the core of that mission, and most of it happens online. The Association had built an audience in one market and decided the standard should be global, which meant the platform teaching it had to be global too.
The challenge
Going global is four hard builds wearing one trench coat. A course platform that tracks lessons, progress, and certification. A store that sells those courses. A translation layer that carries all of it across languages. And a checkout that a student in Belgrade, Berlin, or Boston can complete, in their own currency, with a payment method they actually use. Each of those is a project. The real work was making them behave as a single system that the Association’s own team could run without a developer on call.
What we built
The platform runs on WordPress and Elementor, with WooCommerce handling sales and LearnDash running the courses, all wired together so that buying a course enrols the student and unlocks their lessons automatically.
- The academy, in LearnDash. The full course library, Bodyshape, Beauty, Wellness, Feet, and Detox Madero, plus live courses, with lessons, progress tracking, and certificates on completion
- Six languages, properly. The whole site and every course translated across English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Serbian, with correct hreflang so each language ranks in its own right, not as a duplicate
- Multi-currency checkout. Prices shown and charged in the visitor's currency, so buying a course never means doing mental math on an exchange rate
- Custom content types for the field. Dedicated structures for instructors, certified therapists, certificates, events, and techniques, so the Association manages a living directory, not a pile of static pages
- Conversion-built landing pages. A tailored landing page for each course line, built in Elementor so the marketing team can edit them without touching a developer
Payments were the sharp edge
Selling worldwide means no single payment method reaches everyone. So the checkout offers three routes, each covering a different buyer:
- Stripe for international card payments, the default for most of the world
- Apple Pay and Google Pay for the growing share of buyers who never reach for a physical card, especially on mobile
- A bank NestPay gateway for regional card processing. NestPay is the payment platform local banks run for their online merchants, and integrating it meant working to the bank's own 3-D Secure card flow rather than a friendly modern API. It is the least glamorous part of the build and the one that lets local students pay on the rails their bank actually supports
Three gateways in one WooCommerce checkout, each in the right currency, each reconciling cleanly, is exactly the kind of plumbing that decides whether an international store takes money or loses the sale on the last screen.
Compliance across two jurisdictions
Selling into the US and the EU at once means answering to both. We aligned the data handling, consent, checkout, and policy pages with EU (GDPR) and US requirements so the Association could take a payment from either side of the Atlantic without a legal question mark hanging over it.
The outcome
The Association sells and teaches its full curriculum worldwide, in six languages, in each buyer’s currency, through three payment routes, on one platform its team runs day to day. Multilingual content, a full LMS, multi-currency commerce, and cross-jurisdiction compliance is a lot to hold together, and it runs as one clean system. See it live at maderotherapy.com.
